Software

GutFix app (iOS, Android) and gutfix.ai member portal, version 1.0.6.

MHRA registration number: pending. This line is updated when the registration is confirmed.

Intended purpose

GutFix is software for adults with persistent digestive symptoms. It analyses the answers they give, groups them into 1 of 9 digestive patterns, and generates an individualised plan of dietary changes and food supplements with suggested amounts and timing, which it adjusts from the member's check-ins and chat. It is used at home without professional supervision. It does not diagnose a disease, does not prescribe medicines and never instructs a member to change care a clinician has prescribed.

Who it is for, and not for

  • For adults aged 18 or over with persistent digestive symptoms.
  • Not for anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive without professional advice first. Tell the app if this applies to you; it leaves certain supplements out of your plan.
  • Not for emergencies. If you need urgent care, call 999 (UK), 911 (US) or your local emergency number.
  • Not a replacement for a doctor, pharmacist or registered dietitian.

Warnings

  • Nothing GutFix says is ever an instruction to stop, reduce, pause, delay or replace anything a doctor has prescribed or recommended, including prenatal vitamins. If our suggestion seems to clash with your doctor's, follow your doctor and tell us.
  • Talk to your doctor before you start any supplement or change your diet, and always if you take prescribed medication or have a diagnosed condition.
  • Get medical care first, before using GutFix, if you have any of these: blood in your stool, unintended weight loss, persistent vomiting, difficulty swallowing, a fever with gut symptoms, severe or persistent pain, symptoms that wake you at night, new gut symptoms after the age of 50, signs of anaemia, or a family history of bowel cancer or inflammatory bowel disease. The app asks about these for a reason.
  • Gutty, the coach inside the app, is an AI system, not a person. It can be wrong. Do not rely on it for anything urgent.
  • GutFix does not sell, make or test any supplement. Read the label of any product you buy and follow the manufacturer's directions.

How to use

  1. Answer the intake honestly and keep it up to date. The safety checks only work on what you give us.
  2. Follow your plan 1 phase at a time and log a check-in most days. The plan adjusts from your check-ins.
  3. Ask Gutty when something is unclear, and tell it about any reaction. If symptoms are severe or getting worse, speak to your GP.

Report a problem

If GutFix gave you advice you think was wrong or unsafe, or you had a reaction you think is linked to your plan, tell us: Report a problem. We read every report and log it in our post-market file.
